One question I had about the keeper was this, if we draft a player in the first 3 rounds and trade that player for a player that wasnt drafted in the early rounds, are they eligable for being keepers?

I dont understand why you loose picks for keeping a player? I mean i guess it adds a wrinkle to your "basic league", but it could get complicated..

for the keeper set-up, we use it in another league--changes the way you look at keepers--in some leagues you just keep who you think are your 5 best players if you have keepers. With this you may look at it differently--you may draft a guy this year in the late rounds who turns out to be a good player--for example I got chris coghlan in the 41st round in the other league so this year he only costs be a 38th round pick versus a player like a Dustin Pedroia who was a 9th round pick last year and would cost a 6th round pick. Pedroia is the better player but on a value basis I like that I get Coghlan this year for only a 38th rounder--a different way to approach it which is why they are tied to draft picks--it works out well I would definitely say

If you trade for a player drafted in the 17th round he stays a 17th round so if you kept him he would be your 14th round pick.
